The case has been filed under Section 67 (transmission of obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as confirmed by Yashasvi Yadav, Inspector-General of Maharashtra Cyber Police.

Everyone will be called to record their statements,” as per Maharashtra Cyber Cell.
It names all those involved in the show from its first episode to Episode 6, including Ranveer Allahbadia, the host, as well as the artists, participants, and judges of India’s Got Latent.
Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Kanchan Gupta, took to her official X account on Tuesday (February 11) and wrote, “The episode on @YouTube with obscene and perverse comments by Ranveer Allahabadia has been blocked following Government of India orders.”
Ranveer Allahbadia issued a public apology
Amid the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting that his remarks were inappropriate. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I’m just here to say sorry,” he stated, acknowledging his mistake.
Multiple FIR’s filed against him and the potential involvement of a parliamentary panel on Information Technology (I-T). Following complaints from several Members of Parliament, the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology is reportedly considering summoning Allahbadia.
He might receive a formal notice to come before the panel and respond to inquiries about his contentious statements. Furthermore, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has stated that she plans to bring up the matter with the committee, arguing that it is inappropriate to use offensive language in the name of comedy.
FIR registered against other comedians
For the unversed, Police complaints have been registered in Mumbai and Guwahati against Allahbadia and other participants in the episode, including comic Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, influencer Apoorva Makhija, and comedian Jaspreet Singh.
An FIR was filed against the group for allegedly spreading obscenity and participating in a sexually explicit debate, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated.
Meanwhile, Ranveer, who was awarded the Disruptor of the Year by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex or join in once and stop it forever?”
He was blasted for the joke. While he has issued an apology after the complaint against him, Mukhija is yet to react to it.
